The ESG & COP31 Forum, organized through a collaboration between the British Chamber of Commerce in Turkey (BCCT), PwC, and the University of Oxford, brought together representatives from the business community, financial sector, public institutions, and academia in Istanbul. Held at PwC’s office in Galataport Istanbul, the forum focused on the future of the sustainability agenda and key priorities in the lead-up to COP31.

During the forum, panel discussions addressed topics such as financing the green transition, the transformation of the industrial sector, sustainable finance mechanisms, ESG governance, reporting standards, and companies’ adaptation to evolving investor expectations. Participants assessed the impact of global sustainability developments on the business world while also discussing the steps required to achieve climate targets.

As part of the forum, Mirhan Köroğlu Göğüş, Country Manager of CDP Türkiye, presented the findings of the CDP Türkiye 2025 Climate and Nature Report. The presentation highlighted that companies in Türkiye have reached a significant level of maturity in environmental disclosure and are increasingly translating environmental leadership into financial value and competitive advantage. At the same time, it emphasized that a gap remains between commitments and implementation, and that further progress is particularly needed in nature-related areas. Ahead of COP31, the presentation underscored the importance of strengthening collaboration among the public sector, private sector, and financial community around shared data and common goals.
