CDP Türkiye participated in high-level meetings, forums and side events held during London Climate Action Week (LCAW) from 22 to 29 June 2026, contributing to the global climate dialogue in the lead-up to COP31. Bringing together policymakers, business leaders, financial institutions, international organisations and civil society representatives, these events focused on climate implementation, energy transition, climate finance, transition planning and the role of the private sector.
COP31 Agenda Featured at the Climate Innovation Forum
As one of the flagship events of LCAW, the Climate Innovation Forum once again brought together representatives from government, business, finance, the United Nations and civil society. Discussions focused on translating global climate commitments into tangible outcomes, closing implementation and finance gaps, and scaling innovative solutions.
During the Forum's diplomatic opening session, COP31 President Murat Kurum introduced the COP31 Action Agenda and shared Türkiye's implementation-focused approach to COP31 with international stakeholders. Throughout the Forum, a wide range of topics, including energy transition, climate finance, resilience, electrification and private sector leadership, were comprehensively discussed.
Sessions held throughout the day highlighted issues such as energy transition, climate finance, blended finance mechanisms, electrification, resilience, clean technologies and private sector leadership. Discussions underscored that climate action is not only an environmental necessity, but also presents significant opportunities for economic growth, competitiveness and resilience. Participants emphasised the need for the private sector to integrate climate and nature goals into business strategies, scale innovative financing instruments and strengthen cross-sector collaboration.
Transition Planning and International Standards
The side event titled "The New Baseline for Business Resilience: International Standards for Transition Plans", held as part of the Climate Innovation Forum, explored the role of international standards in moving climate action from ambition to implementation. The event marked the launch of the public consultation for ISO 14060, the world's first ISO net zero standard, while also discussing the ISO-GHG Protocol partnership and new transition planning standards for financial institutions.
The session highlighted the importance of strengthening international cooperation in standards development, reducing fragmentation, and promoting common standards that enable organisations to manage climate transition processes through more reliable and comparable frameworks.
Energy Transition and Green Industrialisation on the Agenda
The Global Green Industrialization Forum addressed green industrialisation, industrial decarbonisation and international cooperation. Accelerating industrial transformation at the global level and strengthening implementation-oriented partnerships emerged as key themes of the Forum.
The Global Energy Transition and Electrification Summit and the Net Zero Delivery Summit, held during the same week, focused on accelerating the energy transition, scaling electrification, transition finance, carbon markets, adaptation and resilience finance. Discussions highlighted the need to accelerate both public and private investments in order to achieve net zero targets.
The Role of the Private Sector in the COP31 Process
CDP Türkiye Country Manager Mirhan Köroğlu Göğüş also participated in the session titled "Business Leadership for Climate Implementation: Delivering the 1.3T Roadmap", organised as part of Sustainable Business COP. The session explored topics including private sector leadership in delivering climate goals, scaling climate finance and strengthening public-private partnerships.
The COP31 Business Forum High-Level Roundtable, held during London Climate Action Week, provided an important platform for strengthening private sector engagement in the COP31 process. The meeting, hosted by the COP31 Presidency and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), which has been appointed as the COP31 Private Sector Envoy to coordinate global business engagement throughout the COP31 process, focused on preparations for the COP31 Business and Investment Summit to be held in Antalya and on the contribution of the global business community to the COP31 agenda.
Discussions also focused on strengthening dialogue among businesses, international organisations and other stakeholders, fostering multi-stakeholder partnerships and shaping an inclusive business agenda ahead of COP31. Bilateral meetings held during the programme addressed energy transition, climate finance and opportunities for international cooperation.
A reception hosted by TÜSİAD during London Climate Action Week also provided an important platform for strengthening international cooperation in the lead-up to COP31. The event, hosted by TÜSİAD President Ozan Diren and attended by Dr Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA), brought together business leaders and representatives of international organisations.
Sustainable Finance and Nature-Based Solutions

CDP Türkiye also participated in the BNP Paribas CSO Circle, engaging with international stakeholders on sustainable finance, nature-based solutions and investment opportunities supporting corporate climate and nature ambitions. Discussions addressed the role of innovative financing models, outcome-based finance mechanisms and carbon markets in scaling nature-based solutions.
Celebrating CDP's 25th Anniversary During London Climate Action Week
Among the events held during London Climate Action Week was the celebration of CDP's 25th anniversary. Hosted by KPMG, the event reflected on the evolution of environmental transparency and disclosure over the past 25 years, while also exploring the role of sustainable finance and private sector leadership in the climate transition.
The event highlighted the need to accelerate climate action and strengthen the role of business in driving the transition.
From the perspective of CDP Türkiye, London Climate Action Week 2026 served as an important platform where key priorities on the global climate agenda ahead of COP31 were discussed, multi-stakeholder collaboration was strengthened, and implementation-focused solutions came to the forefront. Discussions held during the Climate Innovation Forum, the Global Green Industrialization Forum, the Global Energy Transition and Electrification Summit, and the COP31 Business Forum provided valuable insights into the latest developments related to climate implementation, energy transition, transition planning, sustainable finance and the role of the private sector in the climate transition. In particular, high-level discussions and engagements related to COP31 preparations contributed significantly to strengthening business engagement in the COP31 process and shaping an implementation-oriented business agenda. Discussions throughout the week also demonstrated that CDP's priority areas—including environmental transparency, credible transition planning, scaling nature-based solutions and increasing climate finance—are becoming increasingly prominent within the global climate agenda.
