The Investor Agenda, of which CDP is one of the members, published a statement entitled “A sustainable recovery from COVID-19” and invited investors from all over the world to fight critical risks related to climate change.

It is stated that the governments should not ignore the climate crisis when they are making post-epidemic economic recovery plans and they should factor foreseeable, acute, systemic and compound economic climate-related risks.

According to the statement, investors also see that the transition to net zero carbon has accelerated and this transition will bring opportunities such as economic growth, employment, energy security, and clean air.

It is stated that accelerating the transition to net zero carbon and aligning the economic system with the Paris Agreement will protect communities and economies against systemic and acute risks. According to the statement, it is critical that governments work with investors, companies, workers to develop just and sustainable recovery plans.
