Institutions are operating in an increasingly complex and rapidly changing global policy environment. In this context, high-quality, decision-ready environmental data has become more critical than ever to understand risks, identify opportunities and guide investments.
Despite global challenges, more than 23,100 organizations worldwide including companies, cities, states, and regions, voluntarily disclosed their environmental data through CDP in 2025. These data provided companies, investors and policymakers with the insights they need to make nature-positive and informed decisions.

In 2025, 640 investors representing portfolios worth a total of USD 127 trillion requested environmental data through CDP. More than 270 major buyers requested approximately 45,000 suppliers to disclose their environmental data through the CDP Supply Chain Program. Over 22,100 companies, representing nearly two-thirds of global market capitalization, disclosed on climate change, forests, water security, biodiversity and plastics. Türkiye stood out among leading countries in environmental leadership in the 2025 CDP results, both at the corporate and local government levels. This year, the number of disclosing companies from Türkiye increased significantly to 151, while 44 companies were included in the Global A List, marking the highest number of Turkish companies ever to achieve A List status.

The Critical Importance of Nature
Transparency on nature-related issues is becoming increasingly indispensable for companies, investors, and regulatory authorities. As nature-related impacts such as water scarcity and land degradation intensify, companies and local governments are more clearly recognizing the benefits of integrating awareness and action into their operations.
The number of organizations reporting on forests, water security, and plastics increased, and globally, the number of companies reporting jointly across climate change, forests, and water security also rose. This trend highlights a shift toward more holistic environmental reporting.

SME Disclosure Is Increasing
CDP’s 2025 data show that environmental reporting is no longer limited to large-scale companies; small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are increasingly becoming part of this process. Thanks to CDP’s reporting framework specifically designed for SMEs, approximately 11,000 SMEs worldwide measured and reported their environmental impacts in 2025. This development demonstrates that environmental data generation is spreading across the value chain, in line with the growing role of SMEs in global supply chains and the transparency expectations of major buyers and investors.
Cities and Local Governments Are Disclosing More
From Toronto to Tokyo and from Istanbul to Ankara, cities and local governments continue to take action for climate and nature. In 80 countries, more than 1,000 cities, states, and regions, representing over 1 billion people, disclosed data on their environmental progress to CDP. In 2025, the number of cities, states, and regions disclosing to CDP for the first time increased by more than 60%. Within the CDP Cities Program, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and Ankara Metropolitan Municipality qualified for inclusion in the 2025 Cities A List, thanks to their strong performance in environmental reporting.
The CDP Disclosure Data Factsheet 2025 demonstrates that strong interest in environmental reporting among companies, investors and public institutions continues at the global level. Reliable data on climate change, nature and resource use are critical for managing risks, identifying economic opportunities and supporting a nature-positive transition. With 25 years of experience, CDP contributes to accelerating this transformation by providing comprehensive disclosing data that support informed decision-making.
